So, at long last, we have found and moved into a place. It has a yard! Two bedrooms! A double grill oven and gas stove! There’s an excellent view! All of the windows do this cool thing where they tilt open at the top OR open like a door!
Because it’s a furnished place, the dishes and stuff are a sort of hodge podge the likes of which you’d expect from a former roommate. We have discovered a mug which reads “TOP DAD”. I have claimed it as my own.
But most of all, Paul is here with me. I shall try to not belabor the mushiness, but suffice it to say that living together has been a long time coming. Like, years in the making. Like. For reals. Yo.
After living out of suitcases and boxes since Easter, I’ve never been so happy to put stuff away in a more permanent place. We celebrated by cooking dinner—well, dinner was already in the oven when I got home—and listening to Daft Punk, followed by Queen, followed by Daft Punk/Queen remixes (thank you DJ Hero soundtrack). There was also a Brass Monkey remix in there which had me giggling.
This all adds up to what I tweeted earlier. It is quite possible that I have been this content in my life, but it’s not bloody likely.
